Pastor Rose C. Howell

Rose Mary Cole Howell, born in Durham, NC, a graduated of Hillside High School (1967), is an alumna of Bennett College (1971, BA Sociology); from United Christian College a BTh (1979); and, received MS in Counseling Services from Eastern Washington University (1988). While in Spokane, WA between 1982-88 she served as Director of Minority Student
Affairs at Whitworth College (now University). Throughout her professional career, the fields of social work and mental health have been her areas of service. She retired September 2024 from Lincoln Community Health Center’s Behavioral Health Clinic as a Licensed
Clinical Social Worker. She still maintains her license as LCSW in NC.

Since childhood, Rose Howell’s faith connections were sustained from Mount Vernon MBC, Durham; Fort McClellan’s Gospel Service (Alabama); along with teaching Beginner’s Sunday School, served as Pastor of Fairchild AFB’s Gospel Service 1987-88); and, since returning to Durham, has served at Mount Olive UHC in capacities as Sunday School teacher, Youth Pastor, and since 2015 it’s current Pastor.

Hobbies and other interests include reading, writing, word puzzles, watching documentaries, playing at a few musical instruments.
